Haize Hawke

Reverend Haize Hawke is a heart-led Spiritual Counselor, Master Birthworker, Doula Mentor, Event & Workshop Facilitator, and Somatic Practitioner rooted in over 25 years of service toBlack birthing families and the perinatal workforce. Her work bridges the worlds of traditional midwifery, somatic embodiment, community healing, spiritual counseling and leadership Development.

As a Co-Founder and Board Member of The Victoria Project, Haize helps expand equitable access to licensed midwifery care across California. She also serves as a Board Member of The Bridge Midwives, an organization dedicated to preserving and advancing culturally rooted midwifery pathways. Her leadership supports the sustainability and visibility of Black-centered perinatal care throughout Los Angeles County and beyond.

She trained as a birthworker through ACHI and ALACE and deepened her understanding of birthwork while being mentored by traditional midwives in Ghana, including Grand Midwife Queen Mother UmmSalaamah Sondra Abdullah-Zaimah and Midwives on the Move. Her facilitation style is grounded in trauma-informed care, community-based wisdom, and spiritual alignment, offering spaces where Black birthworkers can process, reclaim their power, and rewrite the story of their experiences.

Haize’s work is anchored in her background in dance, with lifelong training in modern, contemporary, improvisational, and Afro-Caribbean movement traditions. Her 50+ years of dance practice informs her somatic intelligence and her ability to hold groups through nervous system regulation, embodied listening, and movement-based grounding. This embodiment gives her facilitation a breadth and depth that merges artistry, intuition, healing and presence for a profound transformative experience.

She is the co-creator of The Innate Journey, a childbirth education program and The Energetic Journey of Birth, courses which integrate energetic awareness, body literacy, and traditional practices. As a sought-after facilitator, she leads community listening spaces, healing groups, education circles, and workshops that center Black perinatal wellness, cultural integrity, and holistic care.
