Portia Richardson

Rooted in the upper Midwest of Turtle Island and the Mississippi watershed, I am a bridge between worlds—seen and unseen, past and future, land and lineage. I walk the road of the Wounded Healer, transforming personal and collective trauma into medicine. My lifelong sensitivities to subtle Otherworldly energies inspire my eclectic path as a multidimensional healing practitioner, careworker, animist ritualist, educator, and folk artist.

All my work is devoted to intergenerational healing and cultural reconnection - an offering toward embodiment, presence, and authentic connection with the animate world - and is informed by a broad foundation in both academic study and direct experiential learning. I synthesize many wisdom traditions as I weave together diverse healing modalities, cosmologies, and artistic practices to support holistic transformation.

Deeply attuned to fluidity as an ecological, relational, and spiritual force, I seek nuance over labels, embracing complexity and contradiction. Committed to dismantling inherited power structures, I see my frontline work in how I parent, nurture community, and tend the land—both at my home in Minneapolis and my off-grid sanctuary in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. And I attempt to walk humbly, preferring to focus on embodied relational grassroots connection over public visibility, aspiring to become a elder and culture keeper in my community.

Please enjoy this overview snapshot of my journey thus far. If you have questions about my background and winding path (and specific credentials and trainings) please ask. I’m happy to elaborate (and provide my CV) if desired.
